Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T200

If you're a Sony person and you feel like its time to invest on a compact digital camera for your blogging needs, it's really pretty tough to choose from Sony's range of products. But one particular model stands out from the rest as my personal choice; The Cyber-Shot DSC-T200.

A lot of nice features are available on the T200. This elegant and stylish camera has a Carl-Zeiss lens and 8.1 megapixels which results in a super clear image, even large blowups show amazing detail. We're talking about very high quality lens here. The color and clarity is simply amazing.
What's so cool about this compact camera is its huge LCD touch screen (3.5"), which makes it easy to navigate through the features. Other nice features this camera has is Super SteadyShot, Face Detection, and Smile Shutter Mode. It also has 31MB of internal memory, which is nice for those times you forget your memory stick.

This is a great digital camera for anyone, with a sexy design which allows you to take it anywhere. It takes great pictures and its worth the money. I would buy one, that is after I get myself my first dSLR.

Slimmer, Sexier, Sleeker PS3

Okay, the image above is probably just a mock-up, but Sony did recently announced that they are currently working on a slimmer and lighter PlayStation 3 which will be released sometime in Autumn of this year, code-named the PS3 Slim. I guess this will solve the issue about how the current model takes up too much shelf space. Hopefully it won't overheat easily like the slimmer PS2.

iPhone Killer?

Mobile phone companies never give up that easily, do they? Sony Ericsson has just unleashed yet another beast that will hopefully bring down Apple's mighty warrior from its pedestal. The Xperia X1 is Sony Ericsson's very own all-in-one touch-screen mobile phone device that has been dubbed the 'iPhone killer.'

The Xperia X1 features a 3-inch touchscreen and a sliding QWERTY keypad. Unlike the iPhone, this baby runs Windows Mobile, for the first time on Sony Ericsson's smartphone series. Also built in is a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Double The Size

Well, what a surprise. Apple has just recently announced its new line of higher capacity iPod Touch. Previously limited up to 16 GB upon its release last year, the new Touch now comes in 32 GB. Also, they even increased the size of the iPhone up to 16 GB now.

What do you know. If I didn't buy my 80 GB iPod Video in the first place, I would be considering this one right now. 32 GB is pretty neat for my songs collection, which has already reached a total 20 GB. But to think about it, that number would definitely increase in time, and that would make a 32 GB obsolete in no time. I guess I should just wait until at least an 80 GB iPod Touch is made available, then I'll pass my current iPod to my brother.

When the iPod Touch was announced last year, I was mesmerized by the fact that the multi-touch interface has been adapted into an iPod, but they've announced that a little too late. 2 months before the announcement I've already purchased an 80 GB iPod Video Black. Sigh. But I realized at that time that a 16 GB iPod is ridiculously insufficient for my ever-growing library, so I decided to stick with what I had.

I still love my iPod, regardless.

The MacBook Air Ad

There's Something In The Air

In 2007 last year, Apple unveiled the iPhone and rocked the world. The year 2007 was declared the year of the iPhone and Time Magazine called it the technology of the year. So what's in store for 2008?

Yesterday at Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Apple unveiled its latest product, the MacBook Air, and according to Steve Jobs, it is the world's thinnest notebook. The MacBook Air measures 0.16-inches at its thinnest point, while its maximum height of 0.76-inches is less than the thinnest point on competing notebooks on the market.

The MacBook Air has a stunning 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display, a full-size and backlit keyboard, a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing, and a spacious trackpad with multi-touch gesture support (similar to the iPhone's multi-touch) so users can pinch, rotate and swipe.

The MacBook Air is powered by a 1.6 GHz or 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with MB L2 cache, and includes as a standard features 2GB of memory, an 80GB 1.8-inch hard drive, and the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi technology and Bluetooth 2.1. This ultra-portable notebook is designed to be fully 'wireless', so the optical drive isn't included.

Now this is how ultra-portable should be. Rather than sacrificing a full-size keyboard or a full-size 13-inch screen, you could still get the slimmest and lightest notebook to lug around. This is a high-performance notebook without compromising all that. The MacBook Air is so thin that Steve Jobs pulled the laptop out of a manila envelope during his keynote!

Solid State Drives For All

Nowadays, there are a few computer hardware manufacturers that are slowly introducing new storage disks medium for PCs and ultra-portable laptops that could replace conventional hard disks we are using for many years. They're called Solid State Drives, or SSD for short, and they will soon overshadow the dominance of Hard Disk Drives (HDD) due to their advantages.

Solid State Drives use non-volatile flash memory to store data, rather than a hard disk drive mechanism. As a result, there's no spinning motor, which means that performance is better and battery power consumption is less. SSDs produce less heat and have lower weight than hard drives. Best of all, they're highly impact-resistant so there's no way of getting your data crashed if you accidently (or carelessly) dropped your notebook.
The only downside is that SSD capacities hold only a fraction of the amount of data that hard drives can hold. For now, that is. Expect the sizes to be bigger in the not-so-distant future. Hopefully the next gen iPods use SSD for storage, so then we won't have to worry about iCrashes.
